Welcome to the Catholic Faith

During our recent school Mass, Fr. Cesar baptized three Annunciation students in the presence of their classmates and peers. This was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to welcome these students into the catholic faith and also reminded us all the importance, symbolism, meaning, and purpose of baptism. This was a special day for these students as it marks the beginning of their spiritual journey.  Congratulations!

Live a life of thankfulness

Each week, a specific grade is given an opportunity to perform the Mass ministerial duties, such as, the welcome, readings, petitions and collection. Third grade recently performed their duties, in addition to acting out the Gospel reading, Jesus Heals the Ten Lepers. The students brought the story to life, showing us that we should live a life of thankfulness, just like the one leper who returned to give thanks to Jesus. It was a good reminder to us all that God has done so much for us, He deserves our thanks.

Music to our ears

The sound of music resonates through the school hallway as our kindergarten through fifth grade classes rotate through their music lessons with Mr. Jason Jeffrey, Annunciation School’s music instructor. Melody, harmony, rhythm, form, and expression are the five elements of music being introduced to the students through activities, games, and lessons. As the year progresses, students will learn to read and write music notation and notes, form opinions about different works of music and understand patterns in music through listening. Because music is an important part of our Catholic liturgy, Mr. Jeffrey will also be teaching about the different parts of the liturgy, Mass songs, and how music ties in with the scripture readings.

Student Council 2017-2018

Student Council is a service-oriented group, working together as disciples of Christ to serve and represent our school community . Throughout the year, these students plan monthly community service projects and various activities that promote school enthusiasm and a sense of unity. The 2017-2018 Student Council board members took a pledge during our Wednesday morning Mass, promising to uphold the values of the school and to serve as the voice of their peers. We thank these leaders for answering the call to serve.

Christian Role Models

On December 8, the sixth grade class brought the Gospel, regarding Mary, to life with a special narration, role playing, and props. Fr. Bill went on to share how we are led to reflect on Mary’s greatness and how, throughout her life, she said “yes” to God. At the end of Mass, three jr. high students were recognized for being excellent models of Christian conduct and strong work ethic. Congratulations to Jadyn Franzia, Ayden Noche, and Skylar May!

Feast Day of St. Andrew

Today, the fourth grade class did an excellent job participating in the student Mass as lectors, petition readers, and ushers. They also brought the Gospel to life with a short dramatization of Jesus calling forth the fisherman to follow Him. It was a great message for us all on this special Feast Day of St. Andrew.

First School Mass

It was a special morning as our first school Mass began with a warm welcome from our Student Body President, followed by our 8th grade students introducing their kindergarten buddies to the Annunciation School community. Our student body took an active part in the Mass as altar servers, lectors, and ushers while our school choir inspired us with their beautiful music. Thank you, Fr. John for your uplifting message and Fr. Bill and Fr. Cesar for your continued support of our school.
