Red Ribbon Week

Every year during the last week of October, we celebrate Red Ribbon Week, thanks to the planning and organizing efforts of Student Council. Theme days and classroom activities are planned throughout the week and Red Ribbon Week promotional items are shared with the students to help reinforce the positive messages about saying no to drugs and living a healthy lifestyle.

This year, along with delivering the theme, “Your future is key, so stay drug free”, Student Council devoted a theme day in support of “Unity Day”. Students wore all black and an orange ribbon to show that we are united as a school against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. To end the day, Student Council made a special presentation to our younger grades about “Spookley, the Square Pumpkin”, who was not accepted by the other round pumpkins in the patch because he was different. In the end, Spookley helped to save the other pumpkins, who in turn, realized that they were all different in some way. Students left with the message that in order to be #saintsstrong, we must show love and kindness to all.
